Our Why

A Movement For All

Began with Shantelle

At the heart of our journey lies a profound inspiration – Shantelle, whose unique needs and remarkable abilities sparked the creation of this coffee sanctuary. In an environment marked by rising unemployment, Ziwa Farm is not just an economic venture; it is Wangui’s landing space, a haven where she discovers purpose and joy despite her disability.

More than a farm, Ziwa is a beacon of hope for persons living with disabilities. We believe in the transformative power of coffee farming, demonstrating that individuals with unique challenges can forge meaningful lives and contribute to a thriving community. Through Ziwa Farm, we aspire to inspire a shift in perception, showcasing that disability is not a limitation but an opportunity for empowerment and growth.

Our commitment to offer hope extends to our employees and fellow farmers, positioning Ziwa Farm as a point of reference for high yields achieved through the implementation of best farming practices. We are dedicated to sharing our knowledge and expertise, fostering a community where success is not just measured by harvests but by the positive impact on lives.

Ziwa Farm serves as a platform of partnership with schools to explore the intricacies of the coffee value chain. By inviting young minds to witness the journey from seed to cup, we aim to ignite passion and curiosity, nurturing the next generation of coffee enthusiasts and professionals. Through education and exposure, we believe in sowing the seeds of sustainable development.

In recognizing the significance of gender diversity, it’s worth noting that most of our employees are women. At Ziwa Farm, we are proud to break barriers and contribute to the empowerment of women in agriculture. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where every voice is heard, and every contribution is valued.

Welcome to Ziwa Farm – where coffee cultivation is not just a livelihood, but a catalyst for positive change, empowerment, and hope.
